Working at the castle, Part Deux

You didn't think we could get away with only one day of work at Le Rivau, did you?

Of course, it was our pleasure to do whatever we could to help Caroline on the busiest weekend of the year.

You can get a sense of how busy it was in this photo, with our favorite pumpkin princess with her back to us as she helped weigh the grand prize pumpkin on the outdoor antique scale:
Cambria is going to be on the poster for next year's festival. Note the jugglers right behind her:
Caroline needed the most help in the kitchen, because she is only staffed for normal days where she typically serves about 50 people (she only does lunch salads and cheese plates). Today she was expecting over 160 people. So we weren't just nice to have, we were necessary for smooth operation. We volunteered at stations that match our talents.

Cam on salads:
Jon on dishes. "Le Maitre de la Machine!":
Caroline is like a Marine Corps platoon sergeant, briefing her squad leaders before a raid:
The salads were incredible. The kitchen staff only spoke a little English, so it was impressive for Cam to have performed so well in an all-French kitchen:
All in all, it was a great day. We worked hard, and Caroline and the staff were delighted because they set new records for # of people served and Euros of business done. Bravo, Caroline!!
