We were really impressed with the clarity of the water. It was so beautiful, it was tempting to drink right out of the lake:
We stumbled upon (no Trip Advisor crutch used) an incredible food market in the old quarter. Apparently there are a few of these "Globus" stores in Switzerland and Germany, but it was our first time and were completely blown away by the place. The main floor that leads to the street (shown below) has about a dozen prepared food stations. Gourmet Asian food, sushi, pizza, pasta, you name it. A food court with incredible quality and nice outdoor seating:
Downstairs, they have the nicest grocery store any if us had ever seen. Dean & Deluca, the Ferry Building, Bi-Rite, Central Market in Austin... Add all these places up and multiply times ten, and then you have the quality and quantity and service of Globus. Here is the produce:
It was the first time I have been in a grocery store that had a Champagne *section* this big. Oh, and they were pouring samples of Bollinger champagne. After our first full glass, they asked if we wanted more. Then they ushered us over to the red wine section and were pouring a Loire Valley cab franc. Here are two happy campers:
