Quick trip to Bilbao

We took a 3 hour bus ride to Bilbao, and spent two days there relaxing, walking the city, and drying out after a week of great surf in France. Our hotel was a 5 minute walk to the Guggenheim museum:
The museum is right on the riverfront:
It houses a broad range of art. From 17th century Spanish, Italian, and Dutch paintings all the way up to contemporary works like the one below:
This is the massive dog sculpture covered in flowers near the entrance:
We knew it was done by Frank Gehry, but we weren't expecting it to look so similar to the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles:
We walked all over the the old part of town. Narrow walking streets and five story buildings that formed sort of maze:
Both sides of the river had nice walking paths. We went for a morning run up one side and back on the other:
We are on our way back to Jesse's place  
in France to catch a nice little three day swell before we turn around and head to San Senastian.
