Today, your lesson will be short and sweet. Rather than rattle off a long list of Aussie slang words, I am going to focus on two. Possibly my favorite two. They are "bogan" and "hoon."
A bogan is someone who is from the sticks and is not exactly culturally refined. We might call them a redneck in the US. Bogans are easy to spot on the weekends on the beaches of Sydney.
A hoon is someone who is really into their car. Most of the time they are young men with loud exhaust systems and who drive obnoxiously.
Now, when the stars line up perfectly, you can witness an overlap of these two cultures. I'm talking about the elusive Bogan-Hoon. Check this bad boy out. We saw it in Crescent Head:
Hoon up front, Bogan in the back.
