Budget airtravel to Australia

We flew JetStar (wince, cringe) to Australia. We had to. Everything else would have demolished our budget and would have forced us to eat ramen noodles for the whole trip. So we paid less in dollars, but paid more in other forms of currency, namely comfort. Here is what I flew 12 hours in. The guy in front was a large man who, when he reclined his seat, was able to get it to recline PAST the mechanical stop point and squeeze a few extra degrees of angle. That translated to negative legroom for me. Yay, JetStar!
To be honest, it wasn't that bad. And it could have happened on Qantas or Air New Zealand, which, given the prices, would have made me more irritated.
